Levenswerk, or: Are you faster than the Plague?
The Lymborch Brothers, early 15th Century miniaturists, are famous for three works. The Bible Moralisé (https://patrimonioediciones.com/portfolio-item/biblia-moralizada-de-los-hermanos...), the Belles Heures du Duc de Berry (https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/470306), and the Très Riche Heures du Duc de Berry (https://les-tres-riches-heures.chateaudechantilly.fr)
For a long time it was thought that they were Flemish artists. However, in the 1960's it turns out they were born and raised in Nijmegen. So, when in 2012 there was a traveling exhibition of the plates from the Belles Heures (which is in the New York Metropolitan Museum) it also was shown in Nijmegen. That was enough reason for a few people to start a yearly festival, commemorating both the Lymborch brothers, and Medieval Nijmegen.
I was very much part of that festival for more then 15 years, and after a few years I started thinking about a game about the Lymborch brothers.
So together with my wife and children I came up with this.
It is, like most games, to a certain extent a work in progress. But the files that are given here make a working game. It's just a bit clunky, and if you've played it at the Festival, you know that some of the rules can be changed/waved.
At the moment this game is in Dutch. Also some assembly is needed to start playing this. I have not (yet) provided any instructions for that. If there is any interest in this game I will provide that. And I am planning to translate this into English, and possibly into French also.
Hope you have fun with it, and leave a comment, or mail me, if you have any ideas that might help in making it better.
